The Additional Financing to the Somalia Crisis Recovery Project aims to enhance recovery efforts in areas affected by floods and droughts by introducing a specific component focused on food insecurity.
This initiative will encompass both anticipatory actions and immediate responses to the food crisis, alongside medium-term recovery and resilience-building activities.
The project seeks to scale up existing livelihood support through the provision of agricultural inputs and expand its reach to more communities in need.
The overarching objective is to support the recovery of livelihoods and infrastructure while strengthening disaster preparedness across the nation.
With a total project cost of US$ 50.00 million, the project is being implemented by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia.
The project is currently active and is expected to close on May 29, 2026.
