The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from qualified maritime transportation service providers for the shipment of approximately 28,000 metric tons of Ukraine-origin grain in bulk from the Port of Odessa, Ukraine to the Port of Mogadishu, Somalia.
This initiative aims to identify and prequalify competent service providers who can demonstrate their technical, operational, financial, and compliance capabilities to ensure the safe and efficient transport of the grain.
The EOI process will establish a shortlist of eligible providers for a subsequent procurement process, which may include various procurement methods such as RFQ or RFP.
SoDMA, as the national institution responsible for disaster management and humanitarian assistance in Somalia, emphasizes the importance of this project in supporting national food security and emergency response priorities.
Interested companies are encouraged to submit their EOIs by the deadline of May 24, 2026, and must provide evidence of their experience in bulk grain shipping and related maritime logistics.
