Expression of for Consultancy to Facilitate Focus Group Discussions and Design a Multi-Index Index-Based Livestock Insurance Product for Pastoralists in Puntland

World Vision International is seeking a consultant to develop a multi-index livestock insurance product specifically designed for pastoral communities in Puntland, Somalia.

This initiative aims to enhance the resilience of pastoralists against climate-related shocks, particularly recurrent droughts, by conducting participatory consultations to gather socio-economic data and identify suitable insurance indices.

The consultancy will involve focus group discussions to collect primary data that will inform the design of the insurance product, ultimately providing a safety net for livestock keepers facing unpredictable climate impacts.

The project is part of a broader effort to improve the livelihoods of pastoralists in Puntland, where traditional coping mechanisms have become less effective due to prolonged drought cycles and market disruptions.
