The Shock Responsive Safety Net for Human Capital Project (SNHCP) aims to support Somalia's first national safety net program, Baxnaano, which provides cash transfers linked to nutrition for poor and vulnerable households.
This initiative is designed to address immediate consumption gaps and mitigate risks of malnutrition due to various shocks affecting the country.
The project also seeks to establish foundational elements of a national shock-responsive safety net system, thereby contributing to long-term development goals in Somalia.
With a total project cost of US$ 143.00 million, the initiative is implemented by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
The project is part of a broader effort to enhance social protection and improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations in Somalia, ensuring they have access to essential resources during times of crisis.
