The Shock Responsive Safety Net for Human Capital Project Additional Financing (SNHCP AF) aims to extend the nutrition-linked unconditional cash transfers provided under the Government's national cash transfer initiative, Baxnaano.
This project will ensure the continued delivery of cash transfers to vulnerable households for an additional two years, thereby enhancing the support for poor and at-risk populations in Somalia.
The overarching goal is to establish a robust national shock-responsive safety net system that addresses the needs of these households effectively.
The project is managed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and is part of a broader effort to strengthen social protection mechanisms in Somalia.
With a total project cost of US$ 110.00 million, the initiative is designed to provide essential financial assistance to those in need, thereby contributing to improved human capital development and resilience against economic shocks.
